Small rings with drop Fleur de lis dangle earrings made with “gumbo mud!” These are a little different because the mud I used in these is from the Mississippi River! Instead of the red soil that looks more “milk chocolatey,” these are black mud, so they’re more “dark chocolatey” in color :)

Muddy Boot Jewelry is artisan jewelry made from the soil of Louisiana rivers, such as the Mississippi River and the Red River. I have formulated the perfect combination of soil and moldable binders to create these gorgeous pieces of wearable art. I chose river soil as my medium because the river is symbolic of life, the passage of time, and the power of nature. It is a reminder to live life to the fullest and respect every place you visit. Since I love to travel, I wanted to take a piece of my favorite places with me everywhere I go. Louisiana (my home), is one of these places for me.
